Your Zaurus won't send a
fax? Can't get connected to CompuServe? |
Your Zaurus won't send a fax?
This is usually caused by one or more of the fax options being
set incorrectly. Try following the procedure below to correct the
situation:

1. From Notes, Documents, Scrapbook or
Filer, select the entry to be sent as a fax.
2. Touch SEND, and select Fax. 3. From the Send Fax screen, touch the Options button. 4. Now the Zaurus shows you the Fax Options screen. On this screen, be sure to set the options as follows: |

a. Set Port to PC Card.
b. Set Line Type to Tone. c. Set Volume to 3. d. Set Detect to Dial Tone. e. Make sure the Modem String box has an "X" in it. f. In the Modem String Text box, type: +FCLASS=1&K6 |

Can't get connected to CompuServe?
Before you can access CompuServe, you will need to add
a new connection and see that the modem setup options are set correctly.
To do this:
1. Touch TOOLS.
2. Touch the CompuServe icon twice. If the unit is locked, you need to enter the password. The main CompuServe screen will appear.
3. From the main CompuServe screen, touch Setup.
4. Touch Add and enter a new connection name. (For example, "Card Modem".)
5. Touch OK.
6. Enter your name, User ID, password, and access number.
7. Set Timeout if NOT Connected In to 60 seconds.
8. Touch the Modem Setup tab at the bottom of the screen.
9. On the Modem Setup screen, change the settings as follows:

a. From the Speed(bps) drop down menu, choose
14400.
b. Set Port to PC Card. c. Set Volume to 3. d. Make sure the MNP box is not "X-ed". e. Make sure the Hardware Flow Control box is not "X-ed". f. Make sure the Modem String box is empty. |
10. Touch OK to save the changes.
