DESCRIPTION
The IBM
WorkPad PC companion is an indispensable mobile productivity tool
for people who need constant access to critical information. Keep
thousands of addresses and appointments in your pocket waiting
just a push-button away from instant access. The pocket-sized IBM
WorkPad 10U has 1MB of memory, an optional infrared port, a
HotSync cradle to exchange data with your PC, and a
touch-sensitive screen. Use the stylus or a finger to launch
applications, enter text and numbers using the onscreen keyboard
or Graffiti writing software, and read, send and manage your
e-mail. Instantly update your address book, date book, to do
lists and
expense reports.
Exchange
data seamlessly with popular Personal Information Management
(PIM) applications with third-party linking software available
separately. HotSyncŪ technology allows you to quickly
synchronize data in your WorkPad device with data in your
computer -- all with the push of a button. EasySync by Lotus
Notes is also compatible*. Need dial-up connection to a LAN or
network to check or compose e-mail? Or access to the Internet via
add-on applications such as Web browsers, news readers, and other
applications? Just snap on the optional modem and you're
connected.
Open
architecture design also allows developers to write programs and
customize the IBM WorkPad PC Companion for specialized corporate
applications such as forms.
